Pros: Branded as being “made for Canadians” the Toyota Sequoia is a highly capable 4WD SUV with plenty of interior space and creature comforts.
Cons: The Sequoia is extremely dated, and has remained unchanged since 2008.
2015 Toyota Sequoia Price and Fuel Economy: There are three Sequoia models available, all with 4WD. Pricing is as follows (base MSRP):
- 2015 Toyota Sequoia 4WD SR5 5.7L $53,885
- 2015 Toyota Sequoia 4WD Limited 5.7L $60,520
- 2015 Toyota Sequoia 4WD Platinum 5.7L $68,775
Only one engine is available in the 2015 Toyota Sequoia, so fuel economy numbers are the same across the model range. In the city, you’ll see 18.8L/100km and on the highway 14.0L/100km. This SUV is not gentle on the gas, that’s for sure.
Powertrain: As mentioned above, there is one engine available and it is a 5.7L iForce V8 that pushes out 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque. All Sequoia’s come with 4WD and power is controlled via a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Improvements and Changes: There are no major or visible changes made to the 2015 Toyota Sequoia.
Cargo Capacity: In the SR5 and Limited models, there is seating for eight. That drops to seven in the Platinum version. As for cargo space, with all the seats down the rear will swallow up approximately 3,400 litres of stuff. Keep all the rows up and you still get 512 litres of room.
Safety: The 2015 Toyota Sequoia comes with all manner of standard safety equipment and airbags, as well as Toyota’s renowned STAR Safety System that includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC); Traction Control (TRAC); Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS); Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD); Brake Assist (BA); and Smart Stop Technology (SST).
